The Baltimore Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Christian Hursey, who is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Jada Sellers. The incident occurred on July 31, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m. at 709 Lyndhurst Avenue in southwest Baltimore. Responding officers discovered Sellers inside the home with gunshot wounds to her throat and abdomen. She was transported to Shock Trauma in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries on August 12, 2026. Sellers was a student at Milford Mill Academy. According to court documents and a statement of charges, private surveillance footage captured the fatal shooting. The video shows Sellers and a man speaking on the front porch, while a male suspect and another female stood just outside the fenced-in front yard. Investigators state that when Sellers attempted to exit through the gate, the male suspect began shooting at her. In addition to surveillance evidence, witness statements and interviews with associates of the victim helped identify Hursey as the prime suspect. Court documents indicate that Hursey was Sellers’ ex-boyfriend and that the two had recently been involved in a domestic incident that led to their breakup. The family of Jada Sellers expressed gratitude that an arrest warrant has been issued, stating they have long believed Hursey to be the perpetrator. They have urged anyone with information regarding Hursey’s whereabouts to contact authorities. A reward is being offered for information that leads to Hursey’s arrest.
