The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating Jeronimo Cedillo, also known as Geronimo, a 38-year-old man wanted in connection with a violent assault that left a woman in critical condition. Cedillo is the subject of an active attempted-murder arrest warrant following an incident that occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on August 11. According to authorities, Cedillo allegedly forced entry into a home located in the 14100 block of Brighton Avenue in Poway, California. Inside the residence, he attacked 43-year-old Azucena Gonzalez Martinez with an undisclosed weapon, which initial reports indicated was a hammer. The assault caused severe trauma to the victim, who was subsequently transported to a hospital where she was admitted in critical condition. Cedillo fled the scene before deputies arrived. Investigators describe Cedillo as a male with brown eyes and black hair, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. Law enforcement officials have noted that Cedillo is known to frequent various parts of the San Diego area, as well as Los Angeles County and Mexico. There is a concern that he may have fled across the border to Mexico following the attack.
