Federal agents, specifically the U.S. Marshals Service, have joined the ongoing manhunt for Christian Hursey, an 18-year-old man wanted in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Jada Sellers. The incident occurred on July 31, 2026, at approximately 12:15 a.m. outside a residence located at 709 Lyndhurst Avenue in southwest Baltimore. According to court documents and police reports, responding officers discovered Sellers suffering from gunshot wounds to the throat and abdomen inside the home. She was transported to Shock Trauma in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries two weeks later on August 12, 2026. Investigators state that private surveillance footage captured the fatal shooting, showing Sellers speaking with a man on the front porch before a male suspect, identified as Hursey, began firing at her as she attempted to exit through a gate. Witness statements and associates of the victim further corroborated Hursey’s identity as the shooter and revealed that he was Sellers’ ex-boyfriend, with the couple having recently ended their relationship following a domestic incident. The Baltimore Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Hursey, who is considered armed and dangerous.
