Authorities are searching for 22-year-old Zymire Hughes, who remains at large following a disturbing incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hughes is wanted in connection with an assault that occurred on August 12, 2026, around 5:30 a.m. in the downtown area near City Hall. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, Hughes, wearing a disturbing white face mask, a blue backpack, and black clothing, chased a 40-year-old woman. During the encounter, he allegedly made threatening comments while holding his hand behind his back, causing the victim to fall and sustain injuries. Hughes subsequently fled the scene and entered a City Center station of the Philadelphia rail system. An active arrest warrant has been issued for Hughes. Police Captain Jason Smith stated that Hughes has known ties to the West Coast, specifically the Los Angeles area in California and Las Vegas in Nevada, where he travels for employment reasons. There are concerns that he may have already fled Pennsylvania and headed to California.
