Philadelphia police have issued an arrest warrant for Zymire Hughes, a 22-year-old man accused of terrorizing residents in the city. Authorities identified Hughes as the suspect after reviewing surveillance footage from August 12. The incident began at approximately 5:20 a.m. when Hughes entered a Dunkin’ location while wearing a Chucky-style Halloween mask. He was refused service due to his attire. Shortly after exiting the establishment, at 5:25 a.m., Hughes was seen on camera running toward individuals near City Hall. Police report that he chased a man on the west side of 15th Street before approaching a woman who was jogging. According to the complaint, the suspect stopped directly in front of the woman and asked, “Are you ready to die?” The woman fled the scene in fear and sustained a leg injury during her escape. The entire sequence of threatening behavior occurred within a span of roughly 15 minutes. Hughes is now facing multiple charges, including terroristic threats and simple assault, among other offenses. Police have stated that Hughes may have fled Pennsylvania and have identified connections to California and Nevada. Investigators are currently working with the U.S. Marshals Service to locate and apprehend the suspect. The Philadelphia Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding Hughes’s whereabouts or the incidents to contact them directly. Authorities emphasize that the suspect remains at large and pose a potential danger to the public. The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement coordinates across state lines to bring Hughes back to Pennsylvania to face justice.
