A suspect remains at large following a dangerous hit-and-run incident that occurred on the early morning of Friday, August 21, 2026, on Interstate 15 near Jean, Nevada. The incident began shortly after 12:15 a.m. with a multi-vehicle crash involving three sedans. While law enforcement responded to the scene, a second collision occurred approximately twenty minutes later at mile marker 7. During this second crash, a fleeing vehicle struck a Clark County Fire and Rescue ambulance, a CCFD fire truck, and a Chevy Malibu that were present at the scene. The driver of the hit-and-run vehicle fled the area on foot into the desert, prompting a massive search operation. The Nevada Highway Patrol, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and California Highway Patrol utilized both air and ground units, including drones and helicopters, to locate the suspect. As of 9:30 a.m. on August 22, the suspect had not been apprehended.
