The New York Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 30-year-old Shakeema Davis in Brooklyn, New York. The incident occurred on Monday night into Tuesday morning, August 18-19, 2026, at Lincoln Terrace Park. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, Davis was hosting a late-night barbecue with approximately 15 to 20 people, including her seven-year-old son, when the attack took place. The suspect, described as a former romantic partner of the victim, allegedly solicited Davis for sex repeatedly. When she refused, the situation escalated into an argument. Police report that Davis threw a drink at the man and attempted to strike him with a barbecue grill to drive him away. In response, the assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed Davis three times in the body and head. The attack was witnessed by partygoers and Davis’s young son. Despite attempts by good Samaritans to intervene, the suspect swiped at them with the weapon and fled the scene. He was last seen running away shirtless and wearing gray pants. Davis was transported to Brookdale Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. Detectives have identified a vehicle used by the suspect to escape and are currently investigating a person of interest. No arrests have been made as of the time of this report.
