Jackson Police Department is actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the fatal armed robbery of Suresh Patel, a 62-year-old Indian-origin businessman. The incident occurred at Ridgecrest Cellars Wine and Spirits in Jackson, Tennessee, around 9 p.m. on Thursday. Patel, who had recently taken over ownership of the business, was shot and killed by a masked gunman during the robbery. His 19-year-old daughter was present in the store at the time and witnessed the shooting. According to police reports, the suspect entered the establishment, pointed a firearm at employees, demanded cash, and then opened fire, striking Patel, who died at the scene. Surveillance footage captured the suspect, described as a Black man wearing a grey hoodie, jeans, and black work-style boots, with his face concealed by a paintball-style mask. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the area in a white sedan. Authorities have classified the individual as armed and dangerous and have launched a manhunt to locate him. The Jackson Police Department is appealing to the public for any information that could assist in identifying or locating the suspect.
