Worcester Police have issued an arrest warrant for Karen Solomon, 58, who is currently at large in connection with the death of her husband, Kurt Solomon, a 57-year-old off-duty patrolman with the Worcester Police Department. Kurt Solomon, a 31-year veteran of the force and father of two, was found dead inside their home early Tuesday morning. Police Chief Paul Saucier stated that the victim sustained injuries consistent with a sharp object, though he declined to provide further specific details regarding the nature of the assault. Karen Solomon, the founder of the first responder suicide prevention non-profit First HELP, is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury. Authorities have classified her as armed and dangerous. Search operations involving the Worcester Police Department, the U.S. Marshals Service, helicopters, divers, sonar equipment, and K-9 units have been conducted over the past four days, focusing heavily on the Coes Reservoir area. Surveillance footage has captured Karen Solomon walking on the street following the incident. Several public parks and areas near the reservoir have been closed indefinitely as the search continues.
