Authorities are actively searching for an unidentified suspect wanted in connection with a deadly armed robbery that occurred overnight in Bells, Tennessee. The incident took place at the Exxon Safari Corner Market, located in Crockett County just off Highway 412. According to reports, the suspect entered the business during the overnight shift and robbed the establishment. During the course of the robbery, the suspect shot the store clerk. The injured cashier was left on the floor until a customer arrived at approximately 2:30 a.m., discovered the victim, and immediately called 911. Emergency medical services responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a local hospital where they were later pronounced dead. Due to the severity of the crime, a massive law enforcement response was initiated. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been designated as the lead agency for the investigation, working in coordination with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office, the Bells Police Department, and the Bells Police Department. Federal and state reinforcements, including representatives from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Jackson Police Department, and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, have also joined the effort. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the crime scene to identify the suspect. Additionally, law enforcement is exploring a possible link between this fatal armed robbery and a recent robbery and murder that occurred at Ridgecrest Cellars Wine and Spirits on Thursday, which resulted in the death of 56-year-old store owner Suresh Patel, citing similarities between the two crimes.
