Philadelphia police are actively searching for at least four suspects wanted in connection with a violent armed robbery that occurred in Center City Philadelphia. The incident took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in the 1500 block of Locust Street. Surveillance video and social media posts have captured images of one of the suspects brandishing a weapon that appeared to be an AR-15-style rifle. The incident began when three men were conversing on the sidewalk before a dark gray Honda Accord pulled up. Three males exited the vehicle and approached the victims, displaying firearms, including the rifle. A fourth suspect is believed to have remained inside the getaway car. During the confrontation, two victims were ordered to the ground, while a third victim was struck in the face with a handgun during an altercation. The suspects stole various items, including cellphones, watches, car keys, wallets, driver's licenses, and cash, before fleeing southbound on 15th Street from Locust Street. The getaway vehicle, a dark gray Honda Accord, was reported stolen from Cheltenham Township on August 19, 2026, and has since been recovered by police. Investigators are currently determining if the victims were specifically targeted, noting the vehicle had been parked in the area for approximately three hours prior to the crime. The Central Detective Division is leading the investigation.
