Philadelphia police are actively searching for multiple suspects following an armed robbery that took place in Center City on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on the 1500 block of Locust Street, where three masked men exited a gray Honda Accord and approached three victims. According to investigators, two of the suspects were armed with handguns, while a third carried what appeared to be an AR-15-style rifle. A fourth individual, identified as the driver, remained inside the vehicle during the assault. The suspects ordered the victims to the ground and demanded their belongings. While two victims complied with the demands, one victim was pistol-whipped in the face by an assailant. The group stole cellphones, watches, car keys, wallets, driver’s licenses, and an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing eastbound on Locust Street in the gray Honda Accord. The robbery was captured on video by a witness, who subsequently posted the footage on social media, aiding the investigation. Police revealed during a Monday press conference that the vehicle used in the crime had been stolen from Cheltenham Township on August 19 and was recovered in Philadelphia on Monday morning. Authorities have not yet identified the suspects and are urging the public to come forward with any information. Investigators stated they are unsure if the victims were specifically targeted, though the Honda Accord was spotted in the Center City area for approximately three hours prior to the robbery. There are currently no reports of similar linked incidents. The Philadelphia Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the suspects or the stolen vehicle to contact them at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit tips anonymously online. Tipsters are assured that their identities will remain confidential as the investigation continues.
