Pennsylvania State Police are actively searching for 36-year-old Martin Pope, who is currently at large after tampering with his electronic monitoring device. Pope, a resident of Greencastle, is wanted on warrants for felony escape, felony flight to avoid apprehension, and misdemeanor criminal mischief. The incident began on the evening of August 23, 2026, when Franklin County Adult Probation reported that Pope had cut off his ankle monitor and fled supervision. Prior to the escape, probation officers received tamper alerts from the device and attempted to contact Pope, but received no response. Troopers subsequently located the severed ankle monitor near the intersection of Hykes Road and Greenmount Road, outside of Greencastle. A visit to Pope’s residence on Webling Circle in Antrim Township confirmed he was not home. Pope had been placed on 48 months of restrictive probation with seven months of electronic monitoring following a guilty plea in March 2026 to a September 2025 charge of felony fleeing or attempting to elude an officer. As part of his supervision conditions, he was restricted from leaving his residence outside of a pre-approved schedule. Pope has not yet been arraigned in Franklin County Magisterial District Judge Court.
