Houston police are actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a violent armed robbery that left a local man critically injured. The incident occurred on December 28 at approximately 3:15 a.m. in a parking garage located off South MacGregor Avenue in Houston, Texas. Surveillance footage released by the Houston Police Department captures the suspect approaching the victim, identified as Alonzo Sauls, inside the garage. The video shows the individual walking through the area with a flashlight, inspecting vehicles before returning to Sauls’ truck with a firearm. According to Sauls, the suspect initially walked away but returned demanding his wallet and keys. When Sauls did not comply quickly enough, the suspect fired a single shot at close range, striking him in the stomach. Sauls underwent eight hours of surgery and spent three weeks in the hospital recovering from the gunshot wound. He describes himself as blessed to have survived the ordeal. The suspect is described as wearing a molded face mask, ripped jeans, and black-and-white Nike shoes. Eight months after the attack, police have not yet apprehended the gunman, and the suspect remains at large. Sauls is urging the public to remain vigilant in parking garages, advising individuals to avoid using cell phones and to stay alert to their surroundings. He emphasized that the threat is indiscriminate, affecting men and women alike, and warned that if the suspect is not caught, he is likely to commit further crimes.
