Kernersville Police are actively seeking Logan Michael Milstead, the suspect in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in injuries to two individuals. The investigation centers on a collision that occurred on Monday, August 17, 2026, at approximately 1:40 p.m. on the 700 block of Piney Grove Road in Kernersville, North Carolina. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had left the roadway and ended up in a wooded area. Two male occupants of the vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by Forsyth County EMS to Baptist Hospital. Investigators determined that a red Honda was involved in the crash and had also sideswiped a privately owned activity bus before fleeing the scene. No passengers were present on the bus at the time of the collision. The suspect vehicle was later located on Friday, August 21, 2026, when deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office found a red Honda Accord submerged in water on the 8600 block of Belews Creek Road. The Kernersville Police Department Traffic Unit examined the recovered vehicle and confirmed it was the suspect vehicle involved in the August 17 incident. Through cooperation with witnesses and victims, along with investigative efforts by the Kernersville Police Department and assistance from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, authorities identified Milstead as the driver. Police have obtained multiple arrest warrants for Milstead, including felony charges for Hit and Run – Injury (two counts), Alter, Steal, or Destroy Criminal Evidence, and Obstructing Justice. Additional misdemeanor charges include Hit and Run – Leave Scene with Property Damage, Failure to Report an Accident, Driving While License is Revoked – Impaired Revocation, and various registration and insurance violations. The investigation remains ongoing.
