New York City police are intensifying their search for 31-year-old Jesus Acosta, who is wanted in connection with two separate fatal shootings that occurred days apart in New York City. Acosta, a parolee released in April after serving a decade for a previous shooting, is accused of killing two individuals and injuring a third during brazen robberies. The most recent incident took place just after midnight on Tuesday at the 149 Grill in the Melrose section of the Bronx. Surveillance footage shows Acosta entering the establishment, shooting 33-year-old Tayvon Shuler, and stealing money from the register before fleeing. Shuler, known as Plucky, died at the hospital. Prior to the Bronx shooting, Acosta is alleged to have committed a similar crime on Sunday at American Best Wings and Pizza in Brownsville, Brooklyn, where he killed 44-year-old MD Yousuf and injured another worker. Acosta has a significant criminal history, including 13 prior arrests starting from age 14. He is described as having distinctive tattoos, including the word "Bronx" on his hand and "Bobby" on his left forearm. The United Bodegas of America has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the NYPD Crime Stoppers hotline immediately. The community is mourning the loss of the victims, with Shuler's father paying tribute to his son at the scene of the crime. Police continue to canvass the area and review evidence as the manhunt for Acosta remains active.
