Dallas Police are actively searching for an unknown suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the East Oak Cliff neighborhood. The incident took place on June 3 at approximately 3:10 p.m. in the 3500 block of Lancaster Road, near the Dream Food Market convenience store. According to police reports, the victim, identified as 25-year-old Joshua Hardaman III, was shot by an unknown individual following a verbal argument. Hardaman III was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but succumbed to his injuries on June 23, resulting in a homicide investigation. Surveillance footage from the scene captures Hardaman III meeting with the suspect at the store before the exchange escalated. After the shooting, the suspect is seen on doorbell camera video fleeing the area on foot down Leacrest Drive. The suspect is described as wearing a gray jacket with the hood up, short black pants, and black and white tennis shoes. Dallas Police Det. Kenneth Casterol is leading the investigation and is urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the individual. Investigators emphasize that because the shooting occurred in the afternoon during daylight hours, there were likely witnesses in the area. The public is asked to review any personal surveillance footage or dashcam video from the vicinity of Lancaster Road and Leacrest Drive on June 3. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect or their whereabouts is encouraged to contact Det. Casterol directly. Tips can be submitted by calling (469) 781-1261 or by emailing kenneth.casterol@dallaspolice.gov. The suspect remains at large, and police continue to seek the public's assistance in bringing the individual responsible for the homicide to justice.
