David Oancea, widely known by his online alias 'Vegas Dave,' is currently the subject of an active arrest warrant issued by a Clark County judge in Nevada. The sports betting influencer and social media personality is wanted for contempt of court after failing to comply with a judicial order and subsequently missing a scheduled court hearing earlier this month. Oancea, whose real name is David Oancea, became the focus of legal scrutiny following a civil lawsuit filed in 2024 by Cabo Platinum, an upscale vacation agency based in Mexico. The dispute arose when Oancea allegedly fired the company, prevented access to his Mexican properties, and failed to return deposits or funds received, despite having been ordered by District Judge Timothy Williams in 2025 to pay a $30.2 million judgment and turn over specific assets, including luxury watches, Birkin bags, cryptocurrency, and interests in Mexican real estate. When Oancea failed to surrender these assets, District Judge Tara Clark Newberry held him in contempt and issued an order for his arrest. Instead of surrendering, Oancea allegedly fled the jurisdiction. Recent social media posts on his Instagram account, which promote his sports betting picks, appear to show him on the island of Ko Samui in Thailand, featuring images of beaches, private jets, and luxury accommodations. Although Oancea’s attorneys argue that he was already living outside Nevada in Florida caring for elderly parents prior to the warrant, prosecutors and opposing counsel maintain that his actions constitute flight from a fugitive disentitlement doctrine. The United States and Thailand have an extradition agreement, raising the possibility that Oancea could be returned to face the contempt charges. The case is currently under appeal in the Nevada Supreme Court, where Oancea has sought relief from the contempt order, a move that opposing attorneys argue is invalid while he remains a fugitive.
