David "Vegas Dave" Oancea, a 49-year-old Las Vegas sports betting personality, is currently at large and wanted by authorities in Clark County, Nevada. Oancea is the subject of a no-bail bench warrant issued on August 27, 2026, by District Judge Joe Hardy after he failed to appear at a contempt hearing on August 13. The warrant stems from a civil contempt order related to a multimillion-dollar judgment against Oancea. In July 2026, District Judge Tara Clark Newberry found Oancea in willful noncompliance with a court order requiring him to pay $30.2 million to Cabo Platinum, a luxury vacation rental agency. The judgment also mandated the surrender of a Richard Mille watch valued at approximately $400,000, three Hermès Birkin bags, over $375,000 in cryptocurrency, and interests in three Mexican villas. Oancea did not surrender any assets and argued the properties no longer belonged to him, a claim the court rejected. He was ordered to surrender on August 6, but missed the deadline and subsequently skipped the August 13 hearing. Following the issuance of the warrant, Oancea surfaced on social media with posts from Thailand, including images from Ko Samui, and later tagged locations in Tokyo, Japan. While Oancea's legal team argues he was living in Florida caring for his parents and not fleeing criminal charges, the fugitive disentitlement doctrine is being cited by Cabo Platinum’s attorneys to dismiss his petition for relief in the Nevada Supreme Court.
