Two men, a 23-year-old and his 52-year-old father, were stabbed in the early hours of Friday morning while attempting to stop suspected moped thieves outside their home in Bayside, Queens. The incident occurred just before 12:30 a.m. in the driveway of a residence on 201st Street near 40th Road. According to police and family member Leder Zambrano, the victims discovered two young men allegedly attempting to steal a moped. The 23-year-old ran outside to confront the suspects and was stabbed four or five times, sustaining wounds to the lower back, right shoulder, and head. His father joined the confrontation and was subsequently stabbed in the right knee and slashed in the abdomen. Both victims were transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. The suspects fled the scene southbound on 201st Street on a moped. One suspect was last seen wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans, while the second was dressed in all black and wearing a helmet. Police are treating the attack as a possible robbery. No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large. The investigating agency is the NYPD 111th Precinct. Robbery complaints have risen by 25% in the precinct this year compared to the same period last year.
