Cicero police have issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Jonathan Carvillo-Varella, who is wanted in connection with the first-degree murder of Eduardo Mora Martinez. Martinez, 40, was found on the floor of his bedroom in the 2800-block of South Cicero Avenue on August 28, 2025. Friends had initiated a well-being check after the victim failed to appear for work and did not answer his phone. Upon arrival, they discovered him with head injuries. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office determined that Martinez was likely strangled.
