Authorities in San Antonio, Texas, are actively searching for 18-year-old Andrew Rene Ojeda, who remains at large following a high-speed vehicle pursuit and crash on Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026. Ojeda is wanted on multiple state and federal felony warrants related to drug and firearm offenses. The incident began at approximately 8:30 a.m. when Texas Department of Public Safety troopers, assisting the DPS Criminal Investigations Division and the FBI, attempted a traffic stop near Potranco Road and Loop 1604. Ojeda failed to comply with the stop, initiating a chase that proceeded onto eastbound U.S. Highway 90. During the pursuit, Ojeda’s vehicle struck another car, lost control, and collided with a perimeter fence at Lackland Air Force Base. Following the crash, Ojeda fled on foot and briefly entered a bystander’s vehicle, which stopped shortly thereafter near U.S. Highway 90 and IH-410. He then escaped on foot again. No injuries were reported in connection with the crash or the incident. The police activity prompted precautionary security measures at nearby schools, including Mary Burns Michael Elementary, Fisher Elementary, and IDEA Ambrose & Freda Robinson, which were placed in 'Secure' status before the alert was lifted. Multiple law enforcement agencies continue to scour the area for Ojeda, who has not yet been located. The FBI and DPS CID remain involved in the active investigation. The public is urged to exercise caution in the area and to report any information regarding Ojeda’s whereabouts to local law enforcement authorities immediately.
