A 39-year-old Rochester man is wanted for escape from custody after failing to return to a work release facility in March. Benjamen Jacob Lopez, already serving a 364-day jail sentence with work release privileges for gross misdemeanor financial transaction fraud, was last accounted for on March 10. Work release staff attempted to contact him on March 10 but were unsuccessful. He was reported missing to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office on March 11 and remains at large as of April 30. An arrest warrant issued on March 11 charges Lopez with a gross misdemeanor for escaping custody. The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating. Anyone with information is urged to contact the agency at (507) 328-2211.
