Authorities in Southwest Florida are seeking John Monforto, a 27-year-old resident of Lehigh Acres, who is currently at large and wanted for violating the terms of his probation. Monforto is accused of refusing to submit to a mandatory drug test and failing to attend required Narcotics Anonymous meetings. These violations stem from an initial arrest that occurred earlier this year, during which Monforto was taken into custody following a traffic stop. During the stop, deputies discovered a syringe in the vehicle, which Monforto claimed was for insulin, but forensic analysis revealed traces of fentanyl. Additionally, officers located a baggie of methamphetamine in the car. Following this discovery, Monforto spent three months in jail before being released on probation under strict conditions. Physical descriptions provided by Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers identify Monforto as standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He bears distinctive tattoos, including a stick of dynamite on his right leg, the phrase family first on his right arm, and the phrase lost cause on his hands. The investigating agency, Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, is urging the public to come forward with any information regarding Monforto's whereabouts. Tips can be submitted anonymously via the P3 app, through the organization's website, or by calling 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). Individuals whose tips lead to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000. The case remains active as law enforcement continues to search for Monforto to ensure he faces the legal consequences for his probation violations and prior drug-related offenses.
