Ryan Bassham is currently at large and wanted by law enforcement in connection with a deadly explosion that occurred at the Morrow-Gill business complex in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Bassham has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder following the incident, which took place around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026. Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler confirmed the charges and stated that authorities have reason to believe Bassham attempted to avoid arrest. The explosion, which investigators describe as chemical-related, occurred during a THC extraction process at an extraction facility located within the business complex. The blast resulted in the deaths of two individuals; one person was confirmed dead at the scene, while a second person succumbed to injuries at a hospital after being taken there in critical condition. In addition to the fatalities, the explosion caused significant damage to at least 25 businesses in the area near South Lincoln Avenue. Surveillance video from a nearby building captured a bright flash preceding the explosion. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is leading the probe in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
