Multiple gunmen remain at large following a deadly mass shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Trenton, New Jersey. The incident took place around 12:23 a.m. on the 100 block of Locust Street in the Wilbur section of the city. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at a block party attended by approximately 100 people. Upon arrival, officers discovered multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds and transported them to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. Two individuals, identified as a 33-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man, were pronounced dead. Eight other victims, ranging in age from 23 to 43, were treated for their injuries and stabilized. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office confirmed that multiple suspects approached the gathering and opened fire into the crowd. Investigators recovered more than 50 spent shell casings from the scene, which stretched across the entire block, and noted that multiple vehicles were struck by gunfire. The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are jointly leading the investigation. Detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and actively searching for witnesses who may provide information regarding the suspects' identities or movements. As of this report, no arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large. Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora addressed the community, condemning the violence and noting that the gathering was an unauthorized adult event. He emphasized that residents should not have to accept such violence as normal and announced plans to deploy community outreach teams to the neighborhood to work with residents, gather information, and help prevent retaliatory violence. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the shooting or the suspects to contact the authorities immediately.
