West Memphis police are actively searching for 17-year-old Zaelyn Smith, who is wanted in connection with a deadly shooting incident that occurred on Sunday in the city. Authorities have confirmed that two individuals, identified as adults Malik Jones and Shaniya Smith, were found suffering from gunshot wounds at a residence located in the 500 block of Denton Street. Despite the response of officers to the scene, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead. Zaelyn Smith is currently at large and is considered armed and dangerous by law enforcement. He faces active warrants for his arrest, including two counts of first-degree murder, as well as additional charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor. The West Memphis Police Department issued a public alert on Monday morning urging residents to remain vigilant and to report any information regarding the suspect's whereabouts. The investigation is ongoing, and police are emphasizing the critical need for community assistance in locating Smith.
