A 32-year-old man was shot and hospitalized after an incident at a Kalamazoo business on May 17. Police responded to reports of a fight and gunfire at a Douglas Avenue location around 2 p.m., but the suspect fled before officers arrived. The victim sustained two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to his arm and is expected to recover. Investigators conducted a search of a home near Blakeslee Street but have not located the suspect, who remains at large as of May 18. Authorities from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety and the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office are seeking charges in the case. The suspect has not been publicly identified.
