Worcester police are actively searching for a male suspect wanted in connection with a violent stabbing incident that occurred in downtown Worcester, Massachusetts. According to reports, the victim was approached by two unknown men, one of whom allegedly claimed to have a personal grievance. The situation escalated as the men chased the victim across Front Street, leading to a slashing incident near 100 Front Street at the Mercantile Center. The assault resulted in the victim sustaining minor injuries, specifically a slashed wrist, and blood was left trailing from the sidewalk into the lobby of the office building. The suspect fled the scene after an off-duty state trooper, who happened to be in the area, drew his service weapon. Despite the intervention, the suspect escaped capture. Worcester police, including members of the SWAT team, responded to the scene and cordoned off the area, but as of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, no arrests have been made.
