Authorities in Brooklyn, New York, are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for a series of violent incidents in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood. The individual is suspected of damaging more than 20 vehicles over the weekend and is also a person of interest in a separate assault investigation. The vandalism spree was discovered early Friday morning when residents noticed widespread damage to their cars. Mark Bletnitsky reported that his son found his vehicle's windshield shattered upon leaving for work at 5:00 a.m. Security footage reviewed by Bletnitsky captured the suspect jumping onto the vehicle and shattering the glass. Notably, the suspect did not steal any items but focused solely on causing destruction. Local City Council members have shared images of the suspect on social media, urging community vigilance. In a separate but potentially connected incident, police are investigating a video showing a young man approaching a woman on 14th Street and groping her before fleeing the scene. Neighbors believe the person responsible for the vehicle vandalism is the same individual seen in the assault video. The situation escalated when a neighbor intervened in the encounter, leading to that neighbor's arrest for criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment. However, no arrests have been made regarding the vandalism or the sexual assault. Detectives are currently working to determine the connection between the two incidents and are actively looking for the suspect. Residents are urging anyone who may have video footage clearly showing the suspect's face to contact the NYPD immediately. The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and identify the individual responsible for these crimes.
