The New York Police Department is searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a violent slashing incident that occurred in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The attack took place on the evening of Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m. outside the NY-2 Food Market, located at 769 10th Avenue. According to police reports, the suspect and the victim, a 45-year-old man, were involved in an argument outside the storefront. The confrontation escalated when the perpetrator produced a sharp object and slashed the victim’s neck. Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene on foot, traveling northbound along 10th Avenue. Authorities describe the suspect as last seen wearing a white sweater, white shorts, and white shoes. Upon arrival, paramedics and officers from the Midtown North Precinct found the victim covered in blood. He was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he is currently listed in stable condition. As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large. This incident is part of a recent series of violent crimes in the Midtown area, including a separate slashing on Monday involving a 21-year-old man and a fatal shooting in Times Square.
