The individual in question is identified as Eric Shelly, a Black male born on December 8, 2008. According to police reports, the incident occurred on the morning of September 1, 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Investigators state that the victim had given Shelly a ride in their 2004 silver Toyota Camry. While the victim was inside a business located in the 300 block of South Broad Street in New Orleans, Louisiana, Shelly allegedly drove away in the vehicle without permission. Although the vehicle was subsequently recovered, the suspect remains at large. The New Orleans Police Department is urging anyone who may have information regarding Shelly's whereabouts to come forward.
