The Austin Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in locating a suspect wanted for an armed robbery that occurred in north Austin. The incident took place early in the morning on Wednesday, August 19, approximately at 5 a.m., in the 200 block of West Elliot Street. According to police reports, the suspect approached a victim and allegedly pulled out a knife during the confrontation. He then stole the victim's mountain bike before fleeing the scene. The robbery is classified as an armed robbery due to the presence of the weapon. Investigators have released a description of the suspect, identifying him as a Black male between the ages of 22 and 29. He is described as being approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds. At the time of the incident, the suspect was noted to have a beard. His attire included a white long-sleeve shirt, black shorts, white tennis shoes with black laces, and a blue Oklahoma City Thunder basketball hat. Police stated that the suspect is known to frequent the North Lamar and Georgian Drive areas, which may assist in identifying his location.
