Newark police are actively searching for a group of suspects wanted in connection with a violent home invasion and robbery that occurred on August 27. The incident took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Mott Street in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey. According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., the suspects targeted a female victim residing in a third-floor apartment. Upon arriving at the scene, three of the individuals knocked on the victim's door and falsely identified themselves as federal agents to gain entry. A fourth suspect remained outside in a black Toyota Camry Solara bearing out-of-state license plates, serving as a getaway vehicle. Once the victim opened the door, the suspects rushed inside the apartment. One individual allegedly pushed the victim onto a couch and held her down while two accomplices, both wearing masks, proceeded to ransack the residence. During the ordeal, the suspects allegedly stole $7,500 from a safe located in the bedroom and took two credit cards from the victim's purse. After completing the robbery, the suspects fled the apartment, entered the waiting vehicle, and drove east on Fleming Avenue. Police have indicated that a shuttle bus spotted in the vicinity may also be connected to the crime. The suspects remain at large, and authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant. The Newark Police Division is requesting that anyone with information regarding the identity or location of the suspects contact the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Tips are kept confidential, and individuals providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward. Investigators continue to analyze evidence and are seeking public assistance to locate the individuals responsible for this brazen intrusion and theft.
