The New York Police Department is searching for a woman who attempted to abduct a six-year-old girl at the Inwood–207th Street subway station in Upper Manhattan. The incident occurred on July 29, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m. According to law enforcement sources, the suspect approached the child and her mother from behind while they were waiting near the turnstiles. The woman, described as wearing large dark sunglasses, a light blue oversized bucket hat, a black-and-white patterned shirt, and black pants, grabbed the young girl and attempted to pull her onto a southbound A train. The mother intervened immediately, preventing the abduction. The suspect fled the scene alone on the train, leaving the child unharmed but treated by EMS workers at the scene. More than two months after the incident, the woman remains at large. The NYPD has released photos of the suspect taken near the station turnstiles and is urging the public to assist in identifying her.
