Houston police are actively searching for an unidentified suspect following an ambush-style shooting that left a man hospitalized in the northeast part of the city. The incident occurred late Thursday night, around 11:30 p.m., in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on Fleming Drive in the Northshore area, near Jacinto City. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim in his mid-20s suffering from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. According to Lieutenant Willkens, a witness reported seeing an individual approach the victim and fire five shots, with only one bullet striking the man before the shooter fled the scene. Responding officers immediately administered CPR to the victim until Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery. Authorities have stated that the victim is currently in stable condition and is okay.
