Chicago Police Department investigators are actively seeking two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on the Chicago Transit Authority Blue Line. The incident took place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the UIC-Halsted station. According to police reports, the suspects approached a 17-year-old male victim, threatened him, and stole his property during the commute. Authorities have released surveillance images capturing the individuals before and after one of them changed clothing, a detail that has drawn public attention. The first suspect is described as a Black male between the ages of 17 and 20, standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants and a long-sleeve black shirt. The second suspect is described as a White male, also aged 17 to 20, weighing approximately 120 pounds. He was observed wearing a navy-and-blue striped shirt and khaki shorts. Surveillance footage indicates that the White suspect was initially seen wearing a ski mask, long black pants, and brown boots, while the Black suspect was later seen carrying that specific outfit. The Public Transportation Detectives unit is leading the investigation and is urging the public to review the released images.
