Philadelphia police are actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on August 31. The incident took place at approximately 12:37 p.m. at the Global Gas Station, located at 2200 Allegheny Avenue in Philadelphia. According to law enforcement reports, the suspect targeted a gas station employee who was preparing to take the business’s daily deposit to a bank. Surveillance footage captured a newer-model black Hyundai Elantra entering the gas station parking lot at approximately 11:15 a.m. Investigators allege that the suspect remained in the vicinity for about 90 minutes before confronting the employee as he attempted to enter his vehicle. During this encounter, the suspect allegedly robbed the worker at gunpoint. Following the robbery, the suspect fled the scene in the Hyundai Elantra and was last seen traveling west on Allegheny Avenue. Police have provided a description of the suspect as a Black male with a medium build, who was wearing a black hoodie and a baseball cap at the time of the crime. The vehicle is described as a black Hyundai Elantra displaying Pennsylvania temporary registration number 4691-295, which police reported returned no record. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division is leading the investigation. The case is identified under the number DC 26-39-063603.
