Houston Police Department investigators are actively searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred late Saturday night in southwest Houston. The incident took place shortly before 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Beechnut Street and Corporate Drive, outside a local restaurant. According to authorities, the altercation began when a man in his 50s and his nephew became intoxicated inside the establishment and were subsequently asked to leave by security personnel and the owner. After exiting the building, the suspect returned to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun, and opened fire toward the business. During the exchange of gunfire, a bystander, identified as a man in his 30s, was struck by bullets. Investigators believe the victim was not the intended target and was hit randomly. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the torso and leg and was transported to an area hospital, where he is currently alive and receiving medical treatment. No arrests have been made as of this report. However, police have identified the suspect and are actively pursuing leads with the cooperation of witnesses at the scene.
