Jackson Police are actively searching for a suspect who remains at large following a deadly shooting that occurred Sunday evening in Jackson, Mississippi. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. outside the residence of the victim, a Hispanic man who was working on the exterior of his home at the time. According to authorities, the victim’s wife and children were inside the house when the attack occurred. Investigators report that an unidentified Black male, estimated to be in his 20s or 30s, drove up to the property, leading to a physical altercation between the two men. While police believe the confrontation may have originated from an attempted robbery, a definitive motive has not yet been established. During the struggle, the suspect shot the homeowner once. The victim sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the area and has not been apprehended. Detectives are currently reviewing local security camera footage to identify the individual and are appealing to the community for assistance.
