The alert covers multiple Southern California counties, including Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Kern, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Orange, and Imperial.

The investigation began on August 1, when emergency responders discovered the body of a newborn, identified by investigators as Baby Angelita, alongside the roadway on the 100 block of Struve Road in Monterey County. The child was confirmed deceased upon arrival. Subsequent investigations led to the issuance of an arrest warrant on August 31 for both the juvenile and Galvez Perez in connection with the infant's death.

Diana Galvez Ortega is described as 4 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen on Friday at approximately 2 a.m. in Salinas with Sergio Galvez Perez. Perez is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe the pair is traveling in a white Nissan Altima with no license plates. Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto stated that detectives have determined Perez is currently concealing the 14-year-old juvenile and preventing law enforcement from locating her. While the exact relationship between the two has not been officially disclosed by the CHP, reports indicate Perez is accused of impregnating the teen, who is suspected of murdering the baby. Authorities are crediting Flock cameras with assisting in the investigation. The public is urged to contact local law enforcement by dialing 911 if they observe either individual.
