Danville Police are searching for suspects responsible for a shooting incident that left a one-year-old girl injured at the Purdum Woods Apartments. The incident occurred on Labor Day, around 1:30 a.m., when officers received a 911 call reporting multiple shots fired at the G building located at 1575 Richmond Boulevard. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the toddler had been struck by gunfire in the lower part of her body while being held by her mother in the building's breezeway. Emergency responders transported the child via air ambulance to a nearby trauma facility, where she is currently reported to be in stable condition. Additionally, two units within the G building sustained damage from the gunfire. Investigators believe the shooting was a targeted attack and noted that the suspects fled the scene on foot. The Danville Police Department is urging the public to assist with the investigation. Residents and witnesses who were in the area bounded by Richmond Boulevard, Purdum Road, Bradley Road, and North Main Street are asked to come forward.
