Daniel Garbow, 38, remains at large and is wanted by authorities in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Moorhead, Minnesota. On September 1, 2026, just before 8 p.m., Garbow allegedly shot a man in the stomach inside an apartment at the Kent Apartments, located at 515 30th Ave. S. The incident began when Garbow arrived at the residence and confronted a woman, whom he struck twice in the face. He then moved into a hallway where he had a verbal exchange with another man. According to witnesses, Garbow fired a gunshot, striking the man in the abdomen. The victim, who was seriously injured, was hospitalized and later upgraded to stable condition. Court documents indicate the victim was attempting to defend the woman when the shooting occurred. Garbow fled the scene immediately after firing the weapon. A spent bullet casing was recovered from the hallway by detectives. Although a black 2005 Kia believed to be Garbow’s was located in Fargo early the following morning, efforts to apprehend him have been unsuccessful. Investigators have received information suggesting Garbow may have fled to North Dakota. An active warrant remains in place for his arrest. Garbow has a prior conviction for domestic assault from 2016. The Clay County case was formally filed on Tuesday, September 8, charging Garbow with attempted murder. Moorhead Police and the Red River Regional Dispatch Center are urging the public to exercise extreme caution.
