Law enforcement officials in Weston, Missouri, have suspended the active manhunt for Michael A. Hull, a 37-year-old man wanted on felony warrants. The search operation, which began Tuesday morning near the West Platte schools, was halted approximately 12 hours later due to extreme heat conditions. Hull, who is described as familiar with the local neighborhoods as he grew up in the area, is considered dangerous. Authorities believe he may be in possession of an AR-style rifle and had a prior interaction with officers on Friday that highlighted the threat he poses. The intense police response prompted the West Platte School District to cancel classes for the day, with resumption scheduled for Wednesday. SWAT teams and canine units conducted extensive searches in the vicinity of Cherry and Walnut Street, including a standoff at a vacant house where Hull was suspected to be hiding. Although no shots were fired, the situation involved tactical gear, snipers, and loud bangs. Hull eventually escaped the immediate area, and authorities believe he may have fled to the river bottoms south of Weston. A resident reported seeing a man matching Hull's description running on Main Street early Tuesday morning. The Platte County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Weston Police Department and Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, coordinated the effort. Hull remains at large. Residents are urged to stay inside and contact 911 immediately if they spot him. The investigation is ongoing, with the Platte County Sheriff’s Office leading the manhunt.
