However, investigators and victims discovered that Butler had booked performances at three different venues on the same night, proving he was not incapacitated. One victim, Robin Heller, mother of the bride, reported that Butler accepted an $800 down payment and additional funds for her daughter’s wedding in June. He promised a full refund within 24 hours but failed to do so. Heller also spent $500 on a stage for his performance. Another organizer, Shannon Bombeck, paid Butler $1,000 and was similarly stood up. A former band member stated that the band had disbanded months prior, indicating Butler was booking events independently. The incident was reported to Omaha police, and an arrest warrant was filed in Buffalo County. Butler responded to media inquiries with a text message expressing shame and regret, stating he is living out of his car and working to repay the victims. He apologized for lying about the reason for his absence. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Butler’s location to contact the investigating agency.
