The New York Police Department’s 103rd Precinct is actively searching for a suspect wanted for a violent assault that occurred in Jamaica, Queens. The incident took place on the morning of Sunday, August 30, at approximately 6:45 a.m., near the Amazura concert venue located at 91-12 144th Pl. According to police reports, the victim, a 46-year-old man, was involved in a minor motor vehicle collision with a heavy-set individual riding a motorized scooter. Following the collision, the scooter rider allegedly became enraged, approached the victim, and punched him in the face with a closed fist. The blow caused the victim to fall to the pavement and strike his head. The assailant then proceeded to kick and punch the victim in the head multiple times before fleeing the scene on his scooter, heading east toward the Jamaica LIRR station on Sutphin Boulevard. Emergency medical services transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was initially listed in serious condition. The NYPD has released surveillance images of the suspect, describing him as a male with a dark complexion, a heavy build, and a beard and mustache. At the time of the incident, he was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with a multi-colored graphic, black jean shorts with white lettering, a black crossbody bag, black sneakers, and a black head covering. Authorities are urging the public to assist in locating the suspect. A reward of up to $3,500 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
