The Broward Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating Jamisha Shamari Sylvain, a 27-year-old woman currently at large. Sylvain is wanted in connection with a series of thefts and frauds targeting elderly victims in Broward County, Florida. Authorities state that Sylvain was previously arrested in December 2025 for posing as a caregiver to exploit seniors, facing charges including fraud, exploitation of the elderly, and burglary. She was released from jail in May 2026, but investigators allege she immediately resumed her criminal scheme. Since her release, detectives have identified at least two new incidents where Sylvain used a similar ruse to gain access to victims' homes. In one case, she posed as a caregiver at the B’nai B’rith apartments in Deerfield Beach, convincing an elderly resident to let her into his apartment. Once inside, she stole his credit card and withdrew approximately $1,600. In another instance at The Pointe at Deerfield Beach Senior Living, she impersonated a building manager to steal debit cards, credit cards, and cash. Sylvain is believed to be active in the Deerfield Beach area. The Broward Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact their non-emergency line at 954-764-HELP. This is an ongoing investigation, and authorities emphasize the danger these crimes pose to vulnerable seniors.
