The Broward Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking 26-year-old Jamisha Shamari Sylvain, who is currently at large and wanted in connection with multiple elderly fraud cases in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Sylvain, who was previously arrested and booked into the BSO Main Jail in December 2025 for charges including occupied burglary, elderly exploitation, and grand theft, was released from custody in May 2026. Since her release, detectives have identified at least two new incidents where Sylvain allegedly targeted vulnerable residents using similar deceptive tactics. In the most recent case, which occurred at The Pointe at Deerfield Beach Senior Living, investigators state that Sylvain posed as a building manager to gain entry to an apartment, where she allegedly stole debit cards, credit cards, and cash. In prior incidents dating back to October 2025, she reportedly posed as a trusted caregiver or insurance-assigned professional to access victims' homes and financial information, resulting in significant monetary losses. The Broward Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Deerfield Beach District Criminal Investigations Unit and other local agencies, is urging the public to assist in locating Sylvain. Authorities are warning residents, particularly those in senior living facilities, to verify the identities of any individuals claiming to be caregivers, building managers, or insurance representatives before allowing them access to their homes or financial accounts. Residents are advised to slow down interactions, check credentials, and consult with trusted family members or friends if a request seems suspicious. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
