The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has issued an active arrest warrant for David Tyler Jones, a 19-year-old resident of Smithville, Mississippi. Jones is wanted in connection with the alleged kidnapping of 14-year-old Rylee Crane, who has been missing since September 5. According to law enforcement, Crane ran away from home on that date and was subsequently seen with Jones. Investigators state that the pair has been actively avoiding law enforcement contact since late Sunday night. Early Monday morning, authorities located Jones’ vehicle wrecked on Sipsey Trail in the Gattman community. At that time, both Jones and Crane fled the scene on foot. Following the discovery of the vehicle, investigators established telephone contact with Jones. During this communication, law enforcement encouraged Jones to return Crane to her family voluntarily to avoid further legal consequences. Despite these efforts, Jones failed to comply, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant on Thursday. Authorities believe Jones is currently located in the Smithville area. The Monroe County and Itawamba County sheriff’s offices are jointly investigating the case.
