According to police reports, the 37-year-old victim was returning from a nightclub in Astoria and had just parked his vehicle in front of his home near the intersection of Juniper Valley Road and 72nd Street. Upon exiting his car, the victim observed a man across the street who pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot into the air before crossing the street to approach him. The suspect pointed the weapon at the victim, demanded his jewelry, and forcibly removed a Rolex wristwatch and a gold chain. The value of the stolen property remains undetermined. The suspect fled the scene on foot toward Pleasantview Street, and the victim was not physically injured. Crime scene investigators responded to the location and recovered one small-caliber shell casing.
